The team consists of Chris, Steve & Jon who, until starting The Music Stop, formerly worked for Make Music. Upon the demise of Make Music they purchased the store in Cockfosters, North London and are now an independent musical instrument supplier. Same location, same staff, same great service, different name (much better we think you'll agree).
Chris
Plays wrong handed Guitar, harmonica and swings (sorry sings). From his early association with original 70's pub rockers BEES MAKE HONEY, Chris has clocked up countless road miles playing in bars, clubs, festivals, honky tonks, dives and concert halls all over the UK, Scandinavia and Europe.

As well as fronting his own bands SEVEN YEAR ITCH (featuring the legendary ALBERT LEE on guitar), a stint with CHARLIE WHITNEY (ex guitarist with FAMILY), and seven years with the highly successful blues band THE FLYING DUCKS, Chris has written songs both for himself and other artists (including a number one in Norway), lent his voice to countless recording sessions at home and abroad, and worked along side the likes of TEX COMER and FRAN BYRNE from ACE, STEVE SIMPSON from RONNIE LANES SLIM CHANCE and ROGER CHAPMAN. Now, as co owner of The Music Stop, Chris plays in local blues band OUT TO LUNCH www.lemonrock.com/outtolunch, and refuses to grow old gracefully.....bless him...

  Steve
Likes chocolate, plays keyboards, piano and harmonica. Steve has worked in retail for 18 years (over 11 of which have been in music retail). Steve's area of expertise is in keyboards and piano, P.A. and recording.

He has played piano and keyboards from the age of four but still only knows how to play in one key. Somehow this helped him to join several bands over the years, culminating in his current band, a rhythm & blues outfit called Ocean's Seven. You can see them at www.oceans7.co.uk and buy their latest album, and their T-shirt. Steve is also very tall.

Jon
Plays keyboards, piano, saxophone, guitar and doesn't play harmonica. He has worked in musical instrument retail for over 8 years, previously for Make Music and The Digital Village.

Before that he studied a Jazz degree at Anglia Polytechnic University in Cambridge. Whilst living in Cambridge he was in a pub rock band covering cheesy 80's pop/rock tunes. This group of layabout students eventually turned into the band that was Calling Orson gaining critical acclaim in the fenland area for their blend of funk rock (and their ability to cover a stonking version of Van Halen's 'Jump'). After a fantastic tour of major venues in the UK Calling Orson inevitably split due to artistic differences. Some of their finest tunes can be found on Myspace.

Jon now works at the shop during the day and writes and records production music by night. You can listen to his work here... www.drawbar.co.uk
